Hi, I'm Maz, an artist and illustrator creating work from my studio in Bransford, Worcestershire, just down the road from the beautiful Malvern Hills.
I’m inspired by the natural world around us, with a particular love for native British wildflowers and birdlife. My work is full of bright colors and playful, squiggly curves. I want my illustrations to bring you joy, happiness and positivity!
I draw inspiration from a mix of art styles, combining 19th-century patterns, botanical studies, mid-century Scandinavian design, Eastern European folk art, and the bold, colourful explosion of the 60s and 70s. Bringing these influences together, I create contemporary botanical illustrations that feel both timeless and fresh.
I love seeing my designs come to life on the products I sell, and sustainability is at the heart of everything I create. Each piece is designed to be beautiful, thoughtful, and kind to the planet.
Beyond my collections, I also run Fancy Features, a custom illustration studio I founded 13 years ago. Over the years, I’ve created bespoke artwork for brands like Google, Facebook, IKEA, the European Union, Spotify, the South Downs National Park, and many others.
Alongside my illustration work, I’m also an associate lecturer in the illustration department at the University of Worcester, where I deliver a module introducing students to the creation of digital art.

I create my work digitally using programs that mimic traditional painting and drawing. When I started, I worked with ink, watercolor, acrylic, and gouache, but I shifted to digital painting for the creative freedom it offers. It allows me to experiment with colors, textures, and compositions in a way that’s flexible and intuitive.
